Where Does the Money Go?
There’s no one fixed price for moving a bed. A single cot in a hostel room won’t cost the same as shifting a king-size hydraulic bed from Alkapuri to Gotri. Here’s what movers actually charge for:
Packing Material
Beds often need bubble wrap, tapes, stretch film, or corrugated sheets. Without it, wooden edges or cushioned headboards can get scratches. Good packing means better safety, but yes, it adds to the cost.
Manpower and Labor
Taking a bed apart, carrying heavy panels through narrow lanes, and then fixing it back at the new home takes effort. Two people may manage a small bed, but for a larger one, four or five movers are usually needed. Naturally, the labor cost rises.
Vehicle and Distance
Even within Vadodara, the cost can change depending on the route. Moving from Manjalpur to Sama may cost less than shifting across the city, especially if the movers have to use a smaller tempo because of tight colony roads. Fuel, tolls (if it’s outside the city), and parking issues also add up.
Extra Situations
This is where hidden charges appear. No lift? Expect a “stair fee.” Need urgent delivery? Extra charge. Some people also ask for short-term storage or insurance, both of which increase the final amount.
